18 Oct SCL Energía Activa (SCLEA) and Augusta Management (Augusta) sell their 49% participation in SPEC
September 12nd 2019, Bogotá, Colombia.- SCLEA and Augusta announce the successful closing of the sale of their 49% stake in Sociedad Portuaria el Cayao (“SPEC”) to Royal Vopak.
SPEC is the first and sole LNG regasification terminal in Colombia. The terminal started operations in 2016, and currently has 400 mcfd regasification and 170,000m3 storage capacity. SPEC holds long-term contracts with three Colombian gas-fired power plants: Termocandelaria, TEBSA and Zona Franca Celsia.
SCLEA and Augusta invested in SPEC as a greenfield project in 2014 in partnership with Promigas, a regional leader in the natural gas sector, who owns the remaining 51% stake.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Royal Vopak is a global tank storage and LNG terminal operator listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
